Excavation and Underground Works: Esplanade Jacques-Cartier

As part of the excavation and underground infrastructure works at the Esplanade Jacques-Cartier, IBS Ingénierie Inc. was appointed as the design engineer for:

• the design of deep foundations;
• the design of temporary Berlin-type retaining systems.

Given the riverside context, characterized by alluvial deposits, a high groundwater table, and potentially sensitive clays, the design required a rigorous geotechnical approach integrating global stability analysis, soil–structure interaction, and groundwater control.
