University Engagement: IBS Ingénierie Supports the Next Generation in Civil Engineering

IBS Engineering had the privilege of being involved in the CIV1910 course at Polytechnique Montréal—an introductory, first-year civil engineering project that immerses students in real-world challenges:

  • design a solution under real-world constraints,
  • optimize their choices,
  • defend their approach in front of an audience of more than 600 visitors.

As guest of honor, “ coup de cœur ” judge, and sponsor, Issam Bekkali, P.Eng., was able to witness firsthand the exceptional quality of work produced by the 17 participating teams.

Beyond calculations, these are future engineers learning to innovate, communicate, and defend a technical idea—skills that are at the heart of professional practice.

This course, delivered with rigor and passion by Professor Sanda Koboevic, illustrates what is most inspiring about engineering: the transfer of knowledge and expertise between generations. This connection is made even stronger by the fact that Issam Bekkali himself took this course about twenty years ago.

At IBS Ingénierie, bridging the gap between academia and professional practice and supporting the next generation of engineers are part of our commitments.

Very proud to contribute to the training of tomorrow’s builders.
